In case you haven’t noticed, for the first time ever Pantone have chosen to blend two shades to make one colour for 2016.

Introducing Rose Quartz and Serenity – or as I like to call it – Sky Blue Pink!

“Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.”

Leitrice Eiseman Executive Director Pantone Color Institute.

They are pretty colours but can be quite tricky to wear. With its baby hued pastels, Sky Blue Pink is perfect for delicate blondes like Cate Blanchett and Gwyneth Paltrow but for redheads like myself it is probably worth avoiding these colours as they would really make me look washed out. I certainly won’t be trying it!

If you can’t wait to embrace this new trend, you might find it a challenge to get an item of clothing with both colours. But you can easily mix the two colours together in one outfit. Why not try a silk shirt with boyfriend jeans?

Rather unusually, these colours have made their way into makeup and hair.

Proving that you can rock this look at any age is the gorgeously stunning Helen Mirren!

attends the EE British Academy Film Awards at The Royal Opera House on February 10, 2013 in London, England.

Not sure if you can pull off Sky Blue Pink?

You need to get colourised!
