If you love trainers, I suggest you make space in your diary to get yourself down to Harvey Nichols Manchester for the very hip and cool Fresh Laces event this Friday 21 February any time from 12pm onwards.
I recently asked to be an official blogger for the event, plus I received an exclusive invite to the press even. Even though I am not a trainers type of a girl (except in the gym obvs), I thought this sounded very interesting indeed. I am excited to see the bright colours and some creativity in the form of some live customising of trainers. I was especially excited when I heard that there was to be fab jewellery designed by Elisha Francis. How cute is this!
Here is the invite:
So basically, the menswear department of Harvey Nichols will be transformed for the day into a pop up sneaker and lifestyle shop. This event is on the back of a super successful launch at Harvey Nichols in London last year. Here’s a video of the London launch to give you a little taster:
You can expect:
• Rare and limited edition kicks for sale from exclusive sellers
• Expert customisation and restoration services
• A selection of urban streetwear and one-off collector’s items
• Live DJ sets and special performances
There will also be bespoke sneaker customs, sneaker related artwork and accessories complimented by the very best high-end street-wear fashion.
Specialist re-sellers and brands include: Mr Sneaker, Dimension London, Tapis Rouge UK, Tranerholic, Kicks on the Moon, Elisha Francis London, I Want Your Sole, BenJArt, Custom Eyes, Crep Protect, From Virginia, Davo Howarth, Lescott-Stewart and Sultan Est.
The face behind Fresh Laces is Nathan Massiah who has collected trainers since the 1990s. Known for his unique street style, he now has over 100 pairs!
The idea behind the initiative is to create a sneaker and lifestyle exhibition that incorporates sneaker re-sellers, streetwear clothing brands, art, photography and hip-hop culture within a unique exhibition space
I am reliably informed that there will be lots of treats throughout the day so well worth a visit! I will be there some time between 3pm and 5pm so come and say hi! Oh, and don’t forget you need to RSVP to attend.
