Well, it is better late than never, but here are a few words on my trip to Leeds Fashion Show 2013.
If you are ever in Leeds, you should take a look inside Victoria Hall – it is such a beautiful building. I was taken aback when I entered – such an impressive backdrop for this glamorous occasion!
After a glass of wine in the bar, I took my seat in the VIP area – right next to the catwalk. I felt like I was on the catwalk myself as the local paparazzi snapped away at me and all the other glamorous guests!
Returning for the 8th year, the show was a platform for designers to bridge the gap between education and the fashion industry. What I saw before me was so fashion forward and truly outstanding. All proceeds go to charity and this year was Bethany’s Smile. The charity supports the care of children with chronic and life-limiting illnesses or with a short life expectancy, a truly worthwhile cause.
There were 27 brands showcasing their designs but I was there to see Masato Jones. I now have two pieces in my growing collection and I can tell you that his clothes are so beautifully made. Pictures really do not do his garments justice – they really are works of art. Also, his attention to detail and customer service is second to none. Masato is Japanese born but London based and he specialises in bespoke fashion.
His new Spring 2014 collection is truly stunning! I saw lots of gorgeous bright florals and amazing maxi dresses. The fabrics were so rich and opulent! Here are some of my favourites:
The first one is his Angel sleeve dress – the pretty ruffles on the sleeves were gorgeous – this dress just screams “Spring”
Next, the Morning Sun dress. I definitely have my eye on this one – perfect colours for me!
This is the Diagonal Cross dress – I cannot put into words how beautiful this fabric is – the dress is such a flattering cut
And finally, wowsers – the Rain Lake dress – a real show stopper! This dress literally floated along the catwalk! If you have a special occasion coming up this dress is perfect.
If you haven’t checked out Masato Jones before, I definitely recommend you do – he does menswear too!
Apologies for the pics – it was the first time I have used my new Nikon camera
